আসহাবে রাসূলের জীবনকথা বই এর সবগুলি খন্ড একত্রে দেয়া হয়েছে।
মোট ১৯৩ জন সাহাবাগনের জীবনী একত্রে পাবেন এই একটি মাত্র Application এ।
আল্লামা ইবন হাজার রাহ. ‘আল-ইসাবা ফী তাময়ীযিস সাহাবা’ গ্রন্থে সাহাবীর সংজ্ঞা দিতে গিয়ে বলেনঃ
ইন্নাস সাহাবিয়্যা মান লাকিয়ান নাবিয়্যা সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লামা মু’মিনান বিহি ওয়া মাতা আলাল ইসলাম’
অর্থাৎ সাহাবী সেই ব্যক্তি যিনি রাসূলুল্লাহর সা. প্রতি ঈমান সহকারে তাঁর সাক্ষাৎ লাভ করেছেন এবং ইসলামের ওপরই মৃত্যুবরণ করেছেন।
‘সাহাবী’ শব্দটি আরবী ভাষার ‘সুহবত’ শব্দের একটি রূপ। একবচনে ‘সাহেব’ ও ‘সাহাবী’ এবং বহুবচনে ‘সাহাব’ ব্যবহৃত হয়। আভিধানিক অর্থ সংগী, সাথী, সহচর, এক সাথে জীবন যাপনকারী অথবা
সাহচর্যে অবস্থানকারী। ইসলামী পরিভাষায় ‘সাহাবা’ শব্দটি দ্বারা রাসূলুল্লাহর সা. মহান সংগী-সাথীদের বুঝায়। ‘সাহেব’ শব্দটির বহুবচনের আরো কয়েকটি রূপ আছে। তবে রাসূলুল্লাহর সা.
সংগী-সাথীদের বুঝানোর জন্য ‘সাহেব’-এর বহুবচনে ‘সাহাবা’ ছাড়া ‘আসহাব’ ও ‘সাহব’ও ব্যবহৃত হয়ে থাকে।
